The Baskin Association  is born

December 2006

The Baskin Association becomes a non-profit organisation The Provincial Administration, having seen the Articles of Association and the documentation submitted by the Baskin Association, announced its enrolment in the Regional Volunteer Register.




2007


March 2007

First championship  

of Baskin organised in cooperation with the C.S.I. the first Baskin championship. The championship was divided into two rounds: 'junior' for junior high schools and 'senior' for high schools

Cremona City of Baskin

By a resolution of the City Council, Cremona was named 'Cremona City of Baskin'





2008


11th june 2008

Inauguration of the public Baskin field 

At Cremona's Sartori Park, the first public baskin court in Italy was inaugurated. The court, equipped with mobile baskets and also marked with special areas, can be used for both basketball and baskin. Some specially installed information signs explain what baskin is and how it is played. In the presence of CIP president Luca Pancalli and numerous city sports authorities, a demonstration match between the Cremona and Aosta teams was played after the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

10th december

Presentation of the book 'Baskin... a sport for everyone'

The 2010-2011 championship and the book "Baskin... a sport for everyone" published by Franco Angeli (authors A. Bodini, F. Capellini and A. Magnanini) were presented to the citizens and the mayor at the Salone dei Quadri of the Cremona Town Hall.

Solidarity Award

The 'Cremonese of the Year' award in the area of solidarity was presented to the Baskin Association.




2011


24th february

Baskin receives Design for all award

Baskin received the international 'Design for all Foundation' award in the non-profit organisation category at the annual Design for all Foundation competition, which rewards international excellence in Design for all initiatives and is open to three categories of candidates - non-profit organisations, companies and public administrations.

Baskin presented in Paris 

After being presented for the first time in the French-speaking university network of AFAPA in Lyon in 2006, Baskin was subsequently taken to the European level at various other EUFAPA university conferences, and then to the international sphere of IFAPA, where the world's leading university experts in the motor sciences specialising in Adapted Physical Activities meet. The presentation of Baskin took place in Paris and focused on emphasising the original links that Baskin develops between 'Sport, Innovation and Design for all'. 2012


21st july

UISP Pesaro Convention

The Baskin Association and the sports promotion organisation UISP have officially signed an agreement valid throughout the country. Great satisfaction was expressed by the two organisations for having succeeded in planning a nationwide intervention that has the ambition of succeeding in getting sections of the population that would otherwise be excluded from playing baskin to play the sport.

First National Baskin Championship

An extraordinarily important event, both for this emerging sport and for Cremona, which is the city where baskin was born. The event was attended by the winning teams from local championships and sections with multiple amateur sports associations. In addition to Cremona's Sant'Ilario and San Michele, competing were Uisp Noto Baskin (Sicily), Gst Anffas Blu (Ferrara), Basket Groane di Lentate (Monza Brianza), Monte Emilius (Aosta), Usp Urbania and Lupo Basket Pesaro.

Baskin exported to Greece

Thanks to a chance meeting during the summer holidays, Marco Vaccarella, a Baskin player and coach born in Avola and a support teacher in Pesaro Urbino, met the APIΩN (ORION) Association in Crete, which dealt with everything related to sport and disability, from bowls to canoeing and triathlon. After a year of videos, emails and skype appointments, the meeting took place in Chania for two training sessions with a youth basketball team 'OAX CHANIA' and with 'APIΩN', and they started playing Baskin.




2014


28th september

Coppa Italia in Ferrara 

The Baskin Italian Cup Final was organised in Ferrara by Asd Sport Integrato Ferrara with the participation of four teams from Verona, Borgomanero, Ferrara and Fano.

4th october 

CIP recognition 

The CIP Council, at its meeting on 4 October, awarded the Baskin Association with the Benemerenza.




2015


5-7th june

National Review in Rho

The Second National Baskin Championship was held in Rho, where the winning teams of the local territorial championships took to the field. Eight teams participated, 20 were the table operators and referees involved in the event. The Polisportiva S. Carlo organised the event in Cinisello and Rho, involving the local entities.


7-11th september

Euro Hoop for All

The Euro Hoop for All was held in Pesaro, an international project organised by the Convention Bureau Terre Ducali, the product of the collaboration of Giorgio Gandolfi and Dr. Marco Cardinaletti. The event, held in conjunction with the European Sports Week, featured about 200 young athletes (disabled and non-disabled) from 12 teams from eight countries: Italy, Turkey, Spain, Croatia, Germany, Russia, Greece, and France. Sport but also educational and cultural activities designed for young people contributed to breaking down physical and mental barriers related to disability, allowing the creation of new friendships in a meaningful and important social context. For baskin, this was the first international tournament with the presence of the Sansebasket team from Cremona, Orea from Nantes, Bees Pesaro and Arion from the island of Crete.

All’ympic Games & baskin spirit 

A week of sport and sharing was staged in Cremona with the project, called 'All-Ympic Games & Baskin Spirit', which involved as many as 41 young people from Lyon, Barcelona and Milan who, through baskin, experienced moments of aggregation and integration not only among themselves, but with the entire city. The international meeting, realised thanks to the co-financing of the Erasmus+ Sport programme, was promoted by the Baskin Association with the collaboration of the Cremona City Council and had many national and international partners.



22-23th october

Trainers' course

The first training meeting for future baskin trainers took place in Cremona. The first part of the course discussed the Baskin regulations "to know, to know how to be and to know how to do" and then moved on to "Understanding the function of the trainer as a crucial link in the structuring of the Baskin movement". At the end of the morning an analysis of the Association's open issues and an evolutionary look at the development of baskin. In the afternoon there was group work on how to organise training sessions by analysing the needs of each role. On Sunday morning, a training session on the knowledge, skills, competences and abilities of the trainer. The importance of communication. Leadership. and more practical workshops. On the afternoon of Saturday 22 October, a friendly match between the Rho B team and Sant'ilario was played in Cremona. It was also an opportunity for new referees and referees to practice at the table and on the pitch!





2017


Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Baskin Onlus Association

26-28th may

Third National Baskin Review   

The third National Baskin Review, which took place in Montecchio Maggiore (VI) from Friday 26 to Sunday 28 May, ended to the cry of 'BASKIN BASKIN'. The event was attended by the winning teams of the respective territorial championships that took place during the year in 8 regions. More than 300 people took part in the event, including about 180 athletes, 40 family members associated with the teams, and about eighty volunteers including staff, field officials, referees and the technical committee.

22th september

Baskin presentation in the Lombardy Region 
A meeting on 'Baskin: when sport is integration' was held at the Pirellone, organised by Councillor Pizzul, with talks on the Birth of Baskin, by Antonio Bodini and Fausto Capellini, Baskin at ASD level, by Franz Pinotti, manager of Sanga Basket of Milan, and Baskin at School level, by Alexy Valet, Training Manager and School Referent in Lombardy for the Baskin Association.


2018


4th february

UISP Memorandum of Understanding

In the presence of the Cremona City Councillor for Sport, the UISP Regional President, the Territorial President and UISP collaborators, the Protocol of Understanding was signed between the Baskin Association and the Regional UISP.

26-28th october

First European Baskin Cup

The first European Baskin Cup was held in Bassano del Grappa, European City of Sport, with teams from Luxemburg, Greece, Spain, France and Italy taking part. The final was streamed live. Cremona participated with a large number of referees and coach.


2019


31th may-2nd june

Fourth National Baskin Review 

To the cry Viva il baskin the fourth national baskin review came to an end. The championship went to Cremona for the first time and was won by Teambaskin Fadigati, which beat a strong PGS welcome Baskin Bologna 67-55 in the final. The third place went to the Superabili team from Avola who beat the Lupo Galaxy Pesaro 84-50. At the end cups and medals for the 9 participating teams handed out by those who contributed to the event.

12th december

Press Conference ENSI Presentation

In the gymnasium of the Scuola Media Virgilio, where Antonio Bodini and Fausto Capellini began experimenting with Baskin at the dawn of 2001, the press conference presenting the Ente Nazionale Sport Inclusivi (National Inclusive Sports Body), which was recognised by the Italian Paralympic Committee as a Paralympic sports promotion body on 31 October 2019, takes place.

Human Rights Festival participation 

Baskin also participates in the Festival of Human Rights! Andrea d'Onghia, head of the ST Lombardia Nord participated in the TALK - Sport that wins, heals, includes.
