On 2 May 2017, a memorandum of understanding was approved between the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Baskin Onlus Association in which it is agreed that, within the framework of their respective competences and in compliance with the principles of school autonomy in terms of the Educational Offer Plan, they undertake to:

  • develop fruitful cooperation aimed at ensuring the full inclusion of students with disabilities through motor and sports activities
  • strengthen cognitive, relational and value competences in young people, in order to foster their educational success and participation in social and working life;
  • to collaborate in the development of a culture of social inclusion by promoting the implementation of projects, including interdisciplinary ones, drawn up by schools of all levels and kinds, consistent with the aims set out above
  • to promote, during curricular and extra-curricular hours, always respecting the autonomy of school institutions, experimental initiatives of inclusive motor and sports activities to improve the participation of disabled pupils in different forms of organised activities
  • disseminate baskin through the significant projects and good practices implemented in recent years throughout the country;
  • to promote baskin as an example and model of inclusive sport in every order and grade of school;
  • to encourage, promote and implement training and refresher courses for physical education and support teachers in the areas of adapted motor and sports activities through baskin
  • promote the participation of students of all school levels in baskin sports events, tournaments and championships organised at provincial and regional level.

Currently, Baskin is included in the Student Sports Championships and it is possible to include Baskin, as well as all inclusive sports, within the Plan for Inclusion in the Institute's PTOF, enhancing its aims:

  • To increase, through sports practice, opportunities for social inclusion by respecting diversity;
  • Developing and enhancing the potential and autonomy of the students with respect for the developmental process by fostering self-knowledge and self-esteem;
  • Stimulating in pupils a meaningful reflection on issues related to the world of diversity;
  • Transferring the key European citizenship competences acquired through motor activity to other disciplines and areas;
  • Fostering the development of skills related to health education, prevention and the promotion of healthy lifestyles;
  • Promoting aggregation and socialisation between the various components of the school and the territory;
  • Promoting important opportunities for social inclusion and solidarity at school and in the local area.
